Happy Birthday Catherine **Birds of a Feather & Off the Rails**

For Catherine's actual day of her birthday (not her party) we went to a indoor play area since August is hot in Texas!!  Cat was looking up at me and I had just read an email from her Grandma begging for a picture of the birthday girl, so I asked Cat to smile and "click" grandma got her photo.

I used the wonderful September Birds of a Feather Kit to create this layout.  It is filled with wonderful papers, wood, lots of glitter, gold, and flowers!!  Just perfect for a little girl layout.

"Pretty" Box **Birds of a Feather Kit**

My daughter Catherine "Cat" love to look at the scrap space and say "pretty" (she is just 2) and always tried to steal my stickers, papers, or anything "pretty".  So I decided to make her a little box to hold some of her precious items in it for her room.  When I gave it to her she had this look on her face like she got the best prize in the world, and of course she called it "pretty".

I used the wonderful September kit from Birds of a Feather Kits.   It is jam packed with the latest and greatest items on the market today!!  Here I used some of the wonderful papers, wood, and the super fun glitter paste!!

September Birds of a Feather Kit

I just got a new phone and with it came this lovely box - wood grain look and really sturdy.  What a waste not to use it!!   The first step before adding on my paper and embellishments was to ink the edges of the entire box to cover up and tears, scratches, and it soften the look of the final project.

I covered the entire box with Modge Podge to seal it all up and them covered it again with the Glitter paste to make it sparkle!!

Mushroom Cards **Birds of a Feather Kit** with Tutorial

I made this cute little fox card yesterday for my eldest son's teacher, but the problem is I wanted to make more than 1 card since all my kids teachers deserve a card to say thanks, but I did not have the supplies to create 4 exact card.  Here I will show you how to create "replica" cards from inspiration or to make more of the same card you just made with what you have on hand!!

Here is the original Fox card I made from the September Birds of a Feather Kit.  I did delete the twine, staples, and glitter for my duplicate cards to speed up the time it took to complete the cards.

Problem 1 - I only had 1 fox - so I found some other wood I had in my stash - how cute are these little mushrooms?  The rest of the card is the same, yeah another card done!!

Problem 2 - I ran out of the white and black paper in the strips on the right side, but I did find some extra leaf paper so i just revered the white paper layer to the orange side so it would not be white on white, and substitute 2 done, and another card made!!

Problem 3 - Ran out of blue cardstock, so I found a complementary color that worked well with these colors and card 3 done!!

Yeah, 4 cards made for my kids teachers just to say thanks!!  Don't forget to thank your teachers, or anyone else that you feels needs a pat on the back for doing a great job!!

Grandpa **Evolution Scrap & Paper House**

The picture is of my father on our trip this past summer to Colorado on a hike we went on one day.  He leaned up on a tree and started to smile as he was talking to some other hikers we met on the trial.  This picture came as a quick snapshot without him knowing I was taking it.  It is just so calm and peaceful, it captured the day perfectly.

I made this layout with lots of layers of papers, stickers, chipboard, fibers, metals, and more.  I played with shapes of tags, die cuts, and rectangles and off set them from each other to give this layout lots of dimension and interest.  I kept the feel the of colors with the picture; calm, serene, and outdoorsy.

Here you can see some of the beautiful Paper House products I used on this layout - Generations paper pad, Colorado 12x12 paper, Grandpa Stickers, and the Nature Canvas Stickers.

Pink card **ScrapPlezier & Susan K. Weckesser**

I love to have cards on hand for any occasion, leave the front blank and you can write what you wish inside to have the cards fit for what you need.  for this card I can see myself using it for a teenage/tween girl birthday, think of you, thank you, or Valentines Day.

I used some of the wonderful Banner stamp from Susan K Weckesser to create the background to this card.  I then added in some May Arts Twine, Core'dinations cardstock, and Prima Flowers.

Army Baby **Paper House**

When Catherine was 2 weeks old Daddy was deployed to Afghanistan for a year.  He had to leave his precious baby girl at 2 weeks old to serve his country.  I will never know how hard it was on him, but I know it was.  Here is Catherine at 7 weeks posing as a cute little army baby.

I used some of the wonderful Army and Military stickers and papers from Paper House Productions to create this layout.I took a twist with them and went the direction of a vintage military blending the Military Papers with the Paper House Generations Paper Pack.
